Meez is a fully three-dimensional virtual world. Unlike most of its contemporaries, however, the virtual world is entirely based on your browser. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be asked to customize your avatar. You can choose from a male and a female avatar, and a load of looks to go through. First off, you’ll find that the world is made up mostly of neighborhoods or, as called in in-game parlance, “hoods.” You will find a lot of options of “hoods” in this game, each of which has its own specific theme. Under the Dock, for instance, is a hood with sand and sea, under a wooden dock. You can find tents in there, as well as seagulls flying above the pristine blue sea.

Now, what can one do in these hoods? There are a lot of activities to do here. For instance, if you visit a gym, you can “exercise.” This is more than just enjoying an animation of your avatar dribbling a ball or running on a treadmill. This is because this is one of the ways that you can earn in-game cash, called “coins” that you can spend on certain stuff in the game.

As a virtual world, you’ll most likely encounter other users in certain hoods. You should interact with these people. After all, this is the reason why you joined the virtual world anyway. You can chat as a main form of interaction. Certain messages also trigger actions by your avatar: for instance, typing in “lol” will trigger an animation of your avatar doubling over in laughter.

Immerse yourself in great soundtracks, courtesy of tracks in Soundcloud that are embedded into the Flash window through which you play the game. There are a lot of music tracks to choose from, courtesy of artists who have agreed to put their tracks into the game as a means of promoting their music.
