Have you always wanted your own town? Did you always feel like a born leader? Then try out your skills in Township, the city-builder simulation game that really makes you feel like you’re building your own community. From the developers at Playtrix, Township is a revolutionary city builder game that sets itself apart from others of the same genre on Facebook. Delivering a lot of promise to players with friends in the game, it also provided a well-established game mechanic that influences the size and prosperity of a town depending on the farming, industry and trade factors. So don’t waste time on the generic, run of the mill city builders, start your real city building simulation with Township today!

Township starts with a starter town with plowed lots of land where crops can be grown. At first, only wheat will be available but will eventually move on to cotton and sugar canes. Only 10 lots are usable at the start of the game but more will be unlocked through your town’s growing population. However, having a rapidly growing population can be quite difficult to maintain. This requires the up keep of the citizens’ happiness which determines how many people can live in your town, and to make the citizens happy, you can start off by setting up buildings and decorating them.

Once they’re happy enough you can start building houses and further increase their population. To earn money, you can simply sell the crops you grow in Township, just like in many other games or you can invest resources to process them. For example, to get flour you can grow wheat and use your mill to grind it and then ship it off to your bakery to make it into bread. This results in gaining much higher profits by selling 10 loaves of bread compared to 10 units of wheat.

Building is where Township gets it’s “no friends” tax. Every player in Township is given a factory that produces a vital resource for building structures. To get other resources that isn’t openly available in the game, players are required to trade with other players or friends who have a different type of factory or to buy the resources with real money. Most resources come at a reasonable price but players will need to make purchases early in-game, plus getting far at Township without friends will be a costly plan.

Another part in playing Township successfully is the Barn, this stores all your crops, produce and building materials but it does get full. This means that you can’t store anymore items without getting rid of some first. Selling these items will help but will have to be careful that you only sell items you no longer need. The barn is upgradable but the items necessary to do so can take a while to get.

The 2D graphics are well made, with an emphasis on a bright color palette that helps differentiate it from other city-building simulation games. The minimalistic graphics also help it to run very well even on low-powered devices. The music is also very friendly to the ears and further enhances gameplay.

Township offers a solid game experience in terms of advancement, well thought out quests, and satisfying visuals. With the town totally within your hands, it’s up to you what it will look like, what establishments it will have and how happy your people will be. You are in charge of everything: from the crops in your farms, to the buildings of your town and even to the food and produce your people eat. Nothing has been left out and everything is at your disposal. Even without having 3D graphics, it breathes a fresh new look to an otherwise boring genre that has been done over and over again.

So what are you waiting for? Don’t miss the opportunity to be the boss of your own town or city, grab a friend and start playing Township today.
