Decorate the Lilobus while solving chapter after chapter of mystery and adventure.
Liv was just doing her job delivering parcels in the real world when she stumbles upon the Lilobus, her bridge into the magical world from the real world. She’s then convinced by Matt, a magical creature to join him in his venture, Mat Cat Delivery, and take on clients in the magical world and leave the real world behind.
This game plays itself more like an RPG than a virtual world simulator, but that just adds to its charm. Role-playing as Liv means that you’re taking on a character that’s bigger than yourself in a world that’s a lot bigger than the one we have. You can awake the inner child that hides in each and every one of us in this cute and truly enjoyable virtual world sim.
Moving on, the story in Wonder Way Tales plays out in chapters. In each chapter, you and Matt visit a client in order to deliver a parcel. For some reason, you and your partner get entangled in some mystery that you’d have to solve. This is where the game’s virtual world aspect comes in – there are a set of goals that you have to achieve in order to move on from that chapter.
These goals typically require you to collect stuff that will enable you to progress to the next part of that chapter. In the first part of the first chapter, for instance, you have to look for the valve to restore the magic fountain and then the silver coin that’s needed in order to open the portal that the fountain has. Once these are done, you can then move into the next section of the chapter, where you’ll encounter several other similar goals.
The amazing thing about this virtual world simulator is that the story plays out in one big epic adventure. Each level stands alone, but contributes to the entire storyline. There are even cut scenes in between and also within each chapter, so you can understand the plot a lot better.
The game retains the leveling up mechanic that’s common in both RPGs and virtual world sims. Each action that you take, like opening up chests, cleaning up trash, and many others, will give you experience points.
With a world in front of you to be explored, you could be tempted to do a lot especially since it gives you experience points. However, while the game does not say it, there is a time limit to accomplishing the game’s goals. You’d have to go at it as fast as you can, and not carried away with scouring for treasures and such in a chapter.
Last but not the least, you can decorate the LiloBus with furniture that you can buy from the shop. Exercise your inner interior designer instinct to its limits in this game!
With a very catchy storyline that should you pique your curiosity greatly, Wonder Way Tales should be a worthy addition to your Facebook game collection. It’s free to play, and requires only your Facebook account.
